Samsung Galaxy S8 Could Have 6-Inch Screen And "Plus" Version

Samsung Galaxy S8 could turn out to be the smartphone to own in 2017 if the many rumors are true. The latest rumor claims the device has a 6-inch screen, and that Samsung might follow Apple and release a Plus version of the device. (Photo : Sean Gallup | Getty Images)
The Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of the best smartphones of 2016, and for good reason. It's the device Samsung used to bounce back after the failure of the Galaxy S6. Now, with the Galaxy S7 already old news, the company is moving to bring the Galaxy S8 to the table in 2017.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 needs to deliver in all areas because the bad taste of the Galaxy Note 7 is still strong. When it comes down to the Galaxy S8, we do not have a lot of information, but if rumors are to be trusted completely, then it would seem as if the smartphone will be a powerhouse.
Massive 6-inch Display To Play With
A source from South Korea claims that the Samsung is planning for two Galaxy S8 devices, which are different from the Galaxy S8 edge. Apparently, one is the regular, and the other could be known as the Galaxy S8 Plus. When it comes down to the screen size, the Galaxy S8 will feature a 5-inch display, and the Galaxy S8 Plus will have the 6-inch screen.
These devices could actually be smaller than the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge due to an increased screen to body ratio. We understand the home button might be removed, and a fingerprint reader added to the back of the smartphone. These design decisions could cause for a smaller device, especially with rumors claiming that Samsung is making moves to follow Apple and be done with the 3.5mm headphone jack.
A report from the South Korean website Naver claims Samsung is telling suppliers to create parts for the screen sizes mentioned above. Still, we'd prefer if consumers take this rumor with a grain of salt seeing as other rumors claim Samsung wants to have Galaxy S8 devices with a 5.7 and 6.2-inch display.
The new smartphones could also come with curved screen for each variant, but this is yet to be confirmed.
The Fiery Galaxy Note 7
Samsung will want to make sure the Galaxy S8 is the smartphone to beat in 2017. This is mainly due to problems the company experienced with the Galaxy Note 7, a smartphone that caught fire several times over its short existence. Here's the thing, the incidents got so bad that one man suffered third-degree burns, and another returned to a burnt out car.
We can only hope the problems of the Galaxy Note 7 fail to show its ugly head with the new device
