Huawei Sends Press Invites For Its MWC 2017 Event, P10 And P10 Plus Launch Inching Closer

Huawei Sends Press Invites For Its MWC 2017 Event, P10 And P10 Plus Launch
Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei has announced a press event and sent out invites for the same. The event has been scheduled in Barcelona on Feb. 26, a day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 kicks off.
Huawei forwarded the invitations to members of the press on Wednesday, Jan.11. However, the company's invite does not offer too many details apart from the titbit that its CEO Richard Yu will be taking the wraps off a new "flagship device."
The CEO will reportedly "share Huawei's latest innovations and exciting advances".
The mention of a "flagship device" set to be unveiled at the Huawei press event has caused quite a stir with speculations rife that the device in question is likely the rumored P10 smartphone, which is the successor of the P9.

Huawei usually unveils its P-series handsets at a different event, which generally occurs a few months after the MWC. It would not come as a surprise if the company changes its plans and shifts from an annual release cycle this year.
The MWC 2017 will be one of the biggest events of the year and is a great platform for OEMs to show off their products. Huawei could well be looking to cash-in on this opportunity and may possibly unveil the P10 smartphone at the event.
This, of course, is mere speculation as Huawei could be referring to a completely different device in its press invite.
Earlier in January, we reported that the Huawei P10 and its sibling the P10 Plus could be released in March or April this year. If the handsets launch on Feb. 26, a possibility exists that Huawei makes available the two smartphones for purchase a month or two later.

Huawei P10, P10 Plus: Rumored Specs
Rumors are rife that the P10 smartphone could sport a 5.2inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The P10 Plus will have a slightly bigger 5.5-inch QHS screen with the same resolution

Both the handsets are expected to be powered by an octa-core Kirin 960 processor, which bodes well for Huawei fans as it is believed that it is better than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821.
The rumored duo will likely house 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which would be seen as an improvement over the current-gen Huawei P9.
The Leica- branded cameras are also expected to be equipped on both the handsets. The P10 has been rumored to pack in an enhanced camera compared to its predecessor P9. The P10 would possibly feature a 16-MP primary camera.
The Huawei handsets will supposedly come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, as well as offer a fingerprint sensor that is embedded on the handset's screen.
With Feb. 26 a couple of weeks away, we will soon learn what surprises Huawei has in store and what is the mysterious flagship device hinted at.
