Samsung has reportedly been working on the upcoming Galaxy J7 2017 smartphone and the handset is in the news again courtesy a new leak.
Case renders of the Galaxy J7 2017 model, the successor of the Galaxy J7 2016 variant, have surfaced online, offering a peek into the handset. The leaked case renders showcases the device's design and overall appearance.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 2017's case has been spotted on e-retailer Amazon. The product listing is for "Cimo [Grip] Premium Slim Protective Cover for Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) - Clear" and shows the impending handset housed inside the transparent protective cover.
The cover has been priced at $7.98 and is available for order now. The product description notes that the cover has been designed for the Galaxy J7 (2017).
The leaked case is slim and lightweight and made from "durable TPU material [to] preserve the original smartphone design."
"Inner dot pattern prevents watermarking on back of your Samsung Galaxy J7 2017," notes the product description.
Rumors pertaining to the Samsung smartphone have been circling online for a while now. This is not the first time that the details of the handset have emerged.
Earlier in January, Tech Times reported that the handset was spotted on Geekbench, which gave fans a peek into the features and specs of the impending handset.
Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 Rumored Specs
The smartphone is rumored to tout a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood it will likely house an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which clocks at 2.21 GHz. Leaks have pointed to the smartphone having 2 GB of RAM.
The purported smartphone may also boast a 13-megapixel rear-facing snapper and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
It would also be equipped with a micro USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and two mics for noise-cancelation per leaks.
The Galaxy J7 2017 is expected to pack in a 3000 mAh battery, which fans would be hoping is incorrect as the 2016 variant of the handset offers a bigger battery by comparison. The on-board storage offered by the device is not known but Samsung could possibly upgrade to 32 GB from the 2016 variants 16 GB capacity. Like its predecessor, the smartphone could boast an expandable memory option.
Samsung is also expected to make the device water resistant, which would add to the handset's appeal.
Rumors hint at the possibility of the smartphone launching in the U.S. on Verizon. The Galaxy J7 2017 will likely release in April this year.
