Sony Could Unveil Five New Smartphones At MWC 2017
Sony Mobile will allegedly release five new smartphones at the MWC 2017 in February per leaks.
According to a report from publication PhoneArena, which cites a blog called Review.ge, the Japanese company has a gamut of smartphones poised to make their debut next month.
The authenticity of the leak is questionable, but it hints at the details of five Sony smartphones which are the Sony Yoshino, Sony BlancBright, Sony Keyaki, Sony Hinoki and Sony Mineo.
The report also offers a peek into the specs and features of the alleged Sony smartphones and here's a detailed look at the five.
Sony BlancBright
The Sony BlancBright is expected to be a premium handset that will feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD display.
Rumors suggest that it is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 or possibly the Snapdragon 653 processor.
The smartphone is expected to be equipped with 4GB of RAM. It is also expected to boast a new camera sensor i.e. the Sony IMX400.
Sony Yoshino
A flagship device in the series, it is expected to offer a 5.5-inch 4 K display. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor. The Yoshino is expected to be equipped possibly with 6 GB or a 4 GB LPDRR4 RAM.
The device is also estimated to sport the Sony IMX400 image sensor. This would ensure a notable improvement in the picture quality of the images taken by the device.
Sony Hinoki
Codenamed the Cypress, the Hinoki is expected to be targeted at price conscious buyers. It is the first device in the lineup to sport a smaller 5-inch HD display. A MediaTek Helio P20 processor will power the handset.
The device is also expected to be equipped with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The smartphone will likely boast an 8MP selfie camera and a 16MP primary snapper.
Sony Keyaki
This is expected to be the mid-range offering from Sony and will have a 5.2-inch Full HD display. The Keyaki - codenamed the Zelkova - is also expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P20, just like sibling Hinoki.
The device will offer 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of on-board storage. This smartphone will be equipped with a 23MP primary camera, as well as a 16MP selfie camera.
Sony Mineo
The last smartphone in the rumored series of Sony devices, not much is known about the Mineo. It is expected to be a mid-range offering and may be priced at $350.
It remains to be seen if the handsets will be introduced at Sony's press event which is scheduled for Feb. 27.
