Samsung Galaxy Tab S2's rumored successor the Galaxy Tab S3 has apparently visited benchmarking site GFXBench, revealing its specs.On Jan. 24, Tech Times reported that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will most likely be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MCW) 2017 to be held in February.
The Samsung offering was expected to be launched earlier this year, however, the launch was delayed due to the Galaxy Note 7 debacle and its subsequent investigation. The last rumor that the tech world got about Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was through a post on Chinese microblogging site Weibo. The post leaked certain rumored specs of the upcoming tablet, like the chipset it is going to use and the codename.
The latest leaks courtesy GFXBench refutes some of the earlier rumored specs and also affirms some.
Rumored Specs Of Samsung Galaxy Tab S3
The GFXBench listing suggests that the upcoming Samsung tablet of will have a 9.6-inch screen compared to the 9.7-inch screen of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. The resolution remains the same at 2048 x 1536 pixels giving the tablet a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Speculations have been rife whether the Galaxy Tab S3 will house a Samsung manufactured Exynos 7420 chipset or Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Initial leaks suggested that Samsung would opt for a Snapdragon CPU, but the Weibo post on Jan. 24 said that an Exynos chipset will power the upcoming Samsung tablet.
The GFXBench listing, however, confirms the initial report of a Snapdragon 820 processor being used in the tablet, refuting the latest rumor of it being powered by an Exynos chipset.
The Snapdragon 820 is better that an Exynos 7420, reason being, Exynos 7420 is two years old and Snapdragon 820 is newer by a year.
The listing goes on to confirm earlier rumors that the tablet will have 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. However, the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system of the tablet will take up 8 GB, so users will have access to only 24 GB of internal memory.
The rear camera of the tablet will likely be 12MP with autofocus support. The primary camera is rumored to have features like full HD video recording, face detection, flash and touch photo.
The front-facing camera will reportedly be 4.7MP with full HD video recording (1920 x 1080 pixels) capability.
The Galaxy Tab S3 may also include, accelerometer, GPS, compass, gyroscope, light sensor, pedometer and Wi-Fi.

Since Samsung has decided not to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone the Galaxy S8 at the MWC 2017, consumers would be hoping that the Galaxy Tab S3 is announced at the company's Feb. 27 press event.
