A reliable source with a proven track record is reporting some Galaxy S8 news. The smartphone will supposedly be present at MWC 2017 but will not be shown to the public, will launch on March 29, and will have a higher price tag than previous devices.
Samsung has not provided any concrete details on the impending arrival of its flagship Galaxy S8 series beyond the company's vice president revealing the smartphone would feature a "slick design," improved rear camera, and enhanced artificial intelligence in the form of a personal assistant named Bixby.
While Samsung has remained silent, sources have been disclosing what the smartphone maker has up its sleeve over the last few weeks, and those details show no sign of slowing down. The latest news comes from a source who has a reliable track record of reporting unannounced smartphone news.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Launch Date Revealed?
"#S8 is READY & will be present to mwc, though NOT showcased to big public. Little bird told me 3/29, available w17, from 849!!! #galaxyS8," Smartphone tipster Ricciolo1 posted on Twitter.
The tweet appears to back up a recent report, which claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus would be shown off at Mobile World Congress 2017 in late February, although the company won't reveal it to the public and instead will give select partners a preview of the new smartphones ahead of an official launch.
As the tipster noted, a "little bird" revealed the launch will supposedly take place on March 29 and will be released during week 17, which also lines up with a possible April 21 release date.
Samsung To Price Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus Higher Than Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge
The tweet also claimed to reveal the starting price of the Samsung Galaxy S8, which is said to cost around 849 euros or around $900. This is higher than any previous Galaxy S series and more than current iPhone starting prices. The increase could be due to the Galaxy S8 sporting a larger 5.7-inch curved edge display, compared to the Galaxy S7's 5.1-inch screen. It's believed that the Galaxy S8 Plus will carry a $100 premium over its smaller sibling and pack in a larger 6.3-inch curved edge Super AMOLED display
